Job Architecture and Career Frameworks For Employee Engagement and Organization Success

A Review of Industry Case Studies and Tips For Employers

February 23, 2017 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am

Presented by: Catherine Hartmann, Principal, of Willis Towers Watson

Employers with specialized job classifications are continually challenged to create new opportunities for employee engagement and clear career paths. It requires an attentive view of job architecture possibilities based on the nature of work to be performed.

In this session, we will be studying specific tactics that employers have taken with successful case studies and how they have addressed inconsistencies in pay practices. The underlying idea is that employees should be identifying and managing their own career paths and investing in their skills.

  • By clearly mapping potential career paths and clarifying roles and responsibilities, the framework empowered employees to take charge of their career development.
  • By organizing work opportunities into meaningful steps and providing for both upward progression and lateral movement, the career framework enabled managers to more effectively determine career development and talent management planning for their teams.
  • By making it easier to see where jobs fit within the organization, the framework has allowed HR to more efficiently and seamlessly integrate acquisition-related jobs.

Come join us as we consider the steps that have been taken to attract, retain, and motivate a highly skilled and mobile workforce, including the use of other talent, reward, and recognition applications.
