Performance Management: Making Performance Management Systems Work

April 27, 2017 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am

David Insler, Senior Vice President, Sibson Consulting, Los Angeles

Do Performance Management Systems Really Work?

Much of the recent literature seeks to dispel the need for performance management as a cumbersome and archaic process that cannot be aligned with the diverse generations of the current workforce. This hypothesis needs to be tested more vigorously in relation to actual organizational results and employee development needs as part of the broader organizational mission.

One of the first major steps in this analysis is an assessment of performance management needs in relation to talent management, rewards, and continuing growth objectives. The employer’s principles and practices must be aligned with desire outcomes. Ultimately, effective performance management is achieve through a balanced focus on leadership, design, and execution. In this session, we will tackle common problems as well as emerging solutions that can be applied for a more effective plan.
