The hard part is determining which value-sharing approach is most suitable.  Should you share stock?  If so, should you give away present value or just future value?  If you do not want to share equity, do you still want to tie the incentive to business growth in some way?  There are lots of questions to be answered before you can determine which long-term incentive plan (LTIP) strategy is best.

 Ken Gibson is Senior Vice President and one of the principals of The VisionLink Advisory Group, a national business consulting firm based in Irvine, California. VisionLink helps their clients develop compensation strategies that will be key drivers of results for their businesses. The firm currently serves clients in 40 different states.

Ken has been consulting with middle market private and small public companies on executive compensation and executive benefits issues for over 30 years. During his career, he has spoken to a variety of business groups throughout the country regarding a range of compensation themes. He has authored numerous articles and white papers addressing compensation and rewards issues that modern businesses face.

Ken also conducts a monthly webinar series that is broadcast to business owners and executives throughout the country. In these broadcasts, Ken and VisionLink’s CEO, Tom Miller, make presentations on cutting edge themes that can help businesses develop world-class rewards programs.

In addition, Ken is the president of the board of directors for the BYU Management Society—an international organization affiliated with the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University. He also served as a founding member and president of the South Orange County Chapter of that society in Southern California.

Ken is married and has four children.
